• Be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country, hold refugee status in an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
• Be a permanent resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
• Be enrolled in a PhD program at a university in an eligible Commonwealth country by the commencement of the scholarship (September 2024).
• Ensure the existence of an institutional or departmental link between their home university and the proposed UK university, surpassing a mere individual collaboration.
• Be available to commence academic studies in the UK in September 2024.
• Possess, by September 2024, a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honors standard or a lower second class degree along with a relevant postgraduate qualification (typically a Master’s degree).
• Lack the financial means to study in the UK without this scholarship.

Benefits of Applying for the Commonwealth Split-site PhD Scholarships: Each Commonwealth Split-site PhD Scholarship includes:

• Approved airfare from the home country to the UK and return at the end of the award (costs for dependants or journeys made before the award confirmation are not reimbursed).
• Approved full tuition fees covered by an agreement between the CSC and the UK university.
• Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,236 per month or £1,516 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area.
