Canadian students are welcome to apply for the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowships Program for the academic year 2023/2024. The program covers Fellowship and PhD level programs across various subjects taught at Canadian universities. The scholarship offers $45,000 annually for two years to qualified students. The application deadline is October 17, 2023.
Degree Level: NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowships Program, Canada 2023/2024 is open to undertake Fellowship and PhD level programs at Canadian universities.
Available Subjects: All subjects of study are eligible for this scholarship.
Scholarship Benefits: NSERC will provide an annual amount of $45,000 for two years to eligible students.
Eligible Nationalities: Canada only.
Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, as of the deadline date of the year in which you apply, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person under a subsection of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada). Additionally, as of the application deadline, you should hold or expect to hold a doctorate in one of the research fields supported by NSERC.
Moreover, you can submit a maximum of one scholarship (Master’s or Doctoral) or fellowship application per academic year to either NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC. You must not have previously earned a postdoctoral fellowship from NSERC, CIHR, or SSHRC (including a Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship).
You should have fulfilled all requirements for your doctoral degree within the previous two years of the application deadline. Exceptions to the doctoral degree completion eligibility period may be granted if you meet specific criteria, such as working full-time in industry or government for at least six months post-doctorate, completing a non-research-focused clinical residency program, experiencing career interruptions, or becoming the primary caregiver following the birth or adoption of a child.
