German Government DAAD Scholarships 2024/2025 | How to Apply
The German Government DAAD Scholarships offer individuals from developing and newly industrialized countries, with a minimum of two years’ professional experience, the opportunity to pursue postgraduate or Master’s degrees at recognized German universities. In exceptional cases, doctoral degrees are also considered, leading to the acquisition of a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.
The DAAD actively supports the training of specialists from developed and newly industrialized countries through its development-oriented postgraduate study programs. Value & Duration of Award:
- Monthly payments of 934 euros for graduates or 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates, depending on academic level
- Coverage for health, accident, and personal liability insurance
- Travel allowance, unless covered by the home country or another funding source

Eligibility: Applicants must:
- Work for a public authority or a state/private company in a developing country, engaged in planning and executing directives and projects with a focus on development policies in technological, economic, or social areas.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject.
- Have exceptional academic results (upper third) and a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience after the first degree at the time of application.
- Academic degrees should not be more than six years old.
- Not have been residents in Germany for over 15 months at the application deadline.

- Letter of Motivation with detailed reference to academic, professional, and personal reasons for applying
- Certificate(s) of Employment showing at least two years of relevant work experience after the Bachelor’s degree
- Recent proof of Language Skills: IELTS or TOEFL for English, and German proficiency for courses taught in German
- Copies of higher education degree certificates
- Copy of full set of transcripts of records
- APS Certificate for applicants from the People’s Republic of China
