International students aspiring to pursue their Bachelor’s Degree in Canada are invited to apply for this scholarship, available for the academic session of 2023.
AIL Acadia Scholarship 2023 Application Details
This national-caliber annual scholarship, with broad-based selection criteria, recognizes all aspects of your development.
The AIL Acadia Scholarship is granted annually on a renewable basis to an entering student from Tantramar Regional High School or Amherst Regional High School enrolled in a Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor/Certificate of Applied Science, or Bachelor of Science program at Acadia University. Preference will be given to students studying engineering, physics, or mathematics and statistics.
The recipient should embody the characteristics of John and Anne Wilson, demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit, positive involvement in the community life of Sackville, New Brunswick, and showcasing the potential to contribute to and benefit from an Acadia University education. The recipient must maintain an overall minimum average of 80% in university preparatory courses for grades 10, 11, and the first semester of Grade 12.
Established in 2005 through the generosity of the Wilson family, the scholarship holds a program value of up to $38,000. Additionally, the scholarship includes a residence scholarship, courtesy of Acadia University, for each of the four years at Acadia, with a total value of $22,000. Note: To be considered for this scholarship, students must maintain a minimum 80% average in grade 11 and grade 12.
Value: $38,000 + $22,000 (residence scholarship) over 4 years.

Please attach the following:
- An essay outlining your career plans, entrepreneurial ventures, extra-curricular activities, and leadership involvement, along with how you plan to contribute to the Acadia community. Please limit to two pages.
- A one-page letter indicating what winning this award would mean to you.
- On official letterhead, one letter of reference from your Principal, a high school teacher, or your School Counsellor.
- One letter from an employer, volunteer organization, or a character reference from someone (non-family) who has known you for at least two years. Please include his/her telephone number.
