Appeal Process: If you fail to meet the renewal conditions, we will notify you in early summer. You may appeal by submitting a written request to Financial Aid (financial.aid@acadiau.ca), detailing reasons and providing relevant documentation. The Scholarships, Prizes, and Awards Committee will review your appeal, considering your academic record and any substantive reasons.

Deferral of Scholarship:

You can opt for a gap year for work, volunteering, or travel. The Scholarships, Prizes, and Awards Committee allows deferral for up to one academic year without engaging in further post-secondary education. To defer, email the Scholarships and Financial Aid office at financial.aid@acadiau.ca with your request and reasons.

Entering Certificate/Bachelor of Applied Science Program Students:

If you have a renewable scholarship at Acadia, Dalhousie University guarantees the renewable portion of any further scholarships up to $5000 in your first year at Dal, provided you maintain a GPA of 3.85 or higher in your engineering program and meet Acadia’s renewal requirements.

Scholarship Students on Co-op: During a Co-op work placement, renewable awards can be held. The Scholarships & Financial Assistance Office will collaborate with the Co-op Office to assess renewal eligibility, considering the Co-op work term grade.

Scholarship Students on Study Abroad: For those on direct exchange with fees payable to Acadia, renewable entrance scholarship funds are credited as usual. Assessment for renewal occurs upon receiving transcripts from the University abroad, verifying if academic requirements are met.
