UNB Continuing Students Scholarships 2023-2024 | How to Apply

The application details for the University of New Brunswick (UNB) Continuing Students Scholarships in 2023 have been provided below. All eligible and interested applicants are encouraged to apply online for this opportunity before the closing date of the UNB Scholarships application in 2023.

UNB Continuing Students Scholarship 2023 Application Details

Continuing students need to apply every year between January 1 – April 15 to be considered for scholarship support.

Who can apply? You are eligible to apply if:

  • You are planning to enroll full-time in each of the fall and winter terms at UNB in an undergraduate degree program in the upcoming year.
  • You have completed 24 credit hours at UNB in the previous assessment year (May to April). For scholarship consideration, grades must appear on the UNB transcript by May 30, regardless of the delivery method.
  • You have participated in an official UNB co-op or exchange program.

Ensure that you meet the specified criteria and submit your application within the designated timeframe for scholarship consideration.

How to apply

  1. Log into myUNB
  2. Scroll down to the “Scholarship, Prizes and Awards” header
  3. Click on “Apply for Continuing Scholarships” link
  4. Complete the application and click submit by April 15. Late applications will be accepted until May 15. If funding permits, these applications will be reviewed before classes begin in September.

Successful applicants will be notified via email in mid August.

How recipients are selected

Scholarships are primarily awarded based on grades (scholarship GPA), with some having additional conditions such as financial need, extracurricular activities, the high school attended, etc. These scholarships reflect the goals and values of the donor.

Additional Awards

In addition to the undergraduate scholarship application, continuing students can apply for the following awards:

Sir Howard Douglas Award Students who have completed at least two years of their undergraduate degree program and achieved Dean’s list in the previous year are eligible to apply. Selection is based on academic achievement and involvement in the university and community. The application is available in myUNB (Scholarships, Prizes & Awards) from Sept. 1 to Oct. 30, with recipients notified via email in January.

Leslie E. Bruce Environmental Scholarship Open to students from all disciplines, this $10,000 scholarship requires applications to demonstrate environmental leadership. The scholarship is tenable during an official exchange. The application is available in myUNB under Scholarships, Prizes and Awards from Jan. 1 to March 1.

Dalhousie Medical Scholarships Open to UNB graduates beginning the Dalhousie Medical program at UNB Saint John. For the application covering all scholarships below, email awards@unb.ca. The deadline to apply is June 30.

  1. Richard & Lynne Winter Scholarship
    • Valued at $4,000
    • Selection based on financial need and scholastic attainment
    • Donor: Dr. Richard W. Winter, BSc from UNB (’53) and MD, CM from Dalhousie University (’58), in honor of his late wife Lynne (Lordly) Winter
  2. Ian MacDonald Scholarship
    • Valued at $3,000
    • Recipient must be a graduate of a New Brunswick high school and a New Brunswick resident
    • Selection based on scholastic achievement and financial need
  3. Margot R. Roach Scholarship in Medicine
    • Valued at approximately $8,000
    • Selection based on academic achievement and financial need
    • Recipient must be a New Brunswick resident.
